Operations Manager

Reports To: General Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:

Plan, direct, and implement operational strategies of the company. Ensure operation, quality, and safety goals are achieved. Due to the seasonality of the business, the hours of work vary widely. The nature of this position may require time outside of standard hours. This role works closely with the General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements the development of the annual operations plan and Develops and maintains positive business relationships with vendors and associates
  • Leads Sales staff to ensure understanding of all aspects of work to be performed
  • Maintains client relations through operational communication, inspections, quality, and service
  • Confers with management to discuss project specifications and procedures
  • Submits all required records in accordance with company policies
  • Implements goals and deadlines for the department and Assists with making sure schedule is running smooth
  • Directs employees to ensure sure correct equipment is in stock and fixing tools when broken
  • Improves processes and policies in support of company goals and customers needs
  • Monitors and directs the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, well-maintained, clean and organized
  • Frequently travels to and from jobsites to deliver materials
  • Confirms inventory is correct in trucks and warehouse weekly
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Standard operating procedures, safety work rules and good general manufacturing practices are followed on a daily basis.

Experience and Requirements:

  • High School graduate
  • Valid Drivers License
  • 3 years of related experience in the Landscape Industry with ability to operate machinery, trucks and trailers

Construction Crew Member

Reports To: Crew Foreman/General Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:

Assistance in achieving daily production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards. Temporary layoff during the winter months can be expected. The nature of this position may require time outside of normal hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows through on all customer issues or concerns brought to your attention while on job, notifying Crew Foreman as needed
  • Reviews work sequences with Crew Foreman to ensure completion of job as bid
  • Assists in preparing tools, equipment and materials needed for next day’s work
  • Properly uses and cares for all assigned tools and equipment and assists in cleaning tools, vehicles and equipment per standard work guidelines
  • Effectively communicates with internal and external clients
  • Accurately completes all production related paperwork on daily basis
  • Operates heavy and powered equipment such as mini excavators, tampers, skid steers with various attachments and properly lays pavers for patios
  • Assists in training other team members to company performance standards
  • On occasion will need to fill in for supervisory role when Crew Foreman is out or as requested
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
