Turning up the heat

In Westlake

We combined natural and rustic elements from the oversized backyard with modern flair to achieve this one-of-a-kind outdoor space. The contemporary outdoor kitchen is situated directly off the home’s indoor kitchen, underneath an attached roof. We illuminated the entire outdoor kitchen with Kichler landscape down lighting, two gas fire features and even a grill that has custom color-changing lighting on its controls. The kitchen also includes full electric, refrigerator and granite countertops.

Three-tiered steps, lined with more down lighting for aesthetics and safety, lead from the kitchen to the pool and spa deck. We transitioned from pavers to limestone and masonry work when we built the custom pavilion in the rear of the backyard. This outdoor structure was made completely out of wood and features unique bindings, a wood burning chimney and full electrical for overhead heaters in the colder months.

The base of each four pillars are wrapped in stone to match the chimney. Underneath the pavilion and next to the wood burning chimney or in the spa next to one of the two fire features, this Westlake backyard offers the best of both worlds.
